Between the Sheets: Black TV & Film Intimacy Scenes That Captivated Audiences
Entertainment Commentary
This piece explores memorable intimacy scenes across Black film and television through the lens of chemistry, storytelling, nostalgia, representation, and audience reaction.
The goal was to create a fun, conversational entertainment feature that felt culturally specific, sharply observed, and highly readable — the kind of piece that could make readers laugh, remember a scene instantly, and maybe send the link to a group chat.
Rather than ranking scenes purely by shock value, I focused on why certain moments stay with audiences: the tension, the music, the performances, the emotional context, and the small details people still talk about years later. The writing blends humor, critique, and cultural memory to celebrate Black screen intimacy in a way that feels playful, specific, and rooted in real audience behavior.
What it shows: Pop culture fluency, editorial voice, humor, audience insight, long-form entertainment writing, and the ability to turn a familiar topic into a culturally resonant read.

What If Rejection Is Just Divine Redirection?
Personal Reflection/Lifestyle Writing
A reflective lifestyle piece exploring rejection through the lens of faith, mindset, timing, and personal growth.
The goal was to take a familiar emotional experience — not getting the job, the relationship, the opportunity, or the outcome you hoped for — and reframe it in a way that felt comforting, empowering, and easy to connect with. Rather than treating rejection as failure, the piece invites readers to consider it as protection, redirection, or a sign that something more aligned may be ahead.
Written in a warm, conversational voice, the piece blends personal insight, seasonal imagery, spiritual perspective, and relatable examples to create the feeling of a thoughtful pep talk from a friend. It shows my ability to write with empathy, clarity, emotional resonance, and an understanding of what makes people feel seen.
What it shows: Reflective storytelling, emotional insight, lifestyle writing, audience connection, voice, and the ability to turn a universal experience into a meaningful read.
